A series of style frames for a title sequence based on an essay by Annie Dillard.
Create a visual that reflects the text about how "nature is as wasteful as it is abundant".
the
challenge
The phrase reminded me of bugs when I started brainstorming. They are so disgusting and scary to us humans, yet they have their own lives to fight for. They need to much time and energy to do something so simple such as moving a leaf, also in that sense, the life they have of doing that is meaningful in its own way.
the
process
When designing, death reminded me of kaleidoscopes and how beautiful and abstract the images they make.
Therefore animation wise, I imagine the abstract bugs I designed would move similarly as how kaleidoscopes work.
